At the end of 2015, 4nature took the owners of Springvale coal mine and the NSW government to court to stop them polluting Sydney’s drinking water.

4nature wins the Marie Byles Award

We are grateful that our work protecting Sydney's drinking water catchment from polluting coal mine discharge was recognised by our conservation peers. The award was announced at the Nature Conservation Council of NSW 2017 Annual Conference at Redfern.
Court rules coal mine approval invalid

Court rules coal mine approval invalid

Conservationists today welcomed the 4nature conservation group's successful legal bid that overturns the approved extension to the Springvale underground coal mine near Lithgow. Conservation group 4nature won its case in the NSW Court of Appeal, overturning the original decision in the Land and Environment Court that ruled in favour of Centennial Coal who operates this mine.

Annual report 2022

The financial year 2021-2022 has seen our work focus on the 2022 Kolombangara conservation scholarships
